Development of LED's (Light Emitting Diodes) in a planted or marine tank environment has made tremendous strides in the past few years. Technical advances that now enable LED's to generate nearly 150 lumens of light per watt makes it now a reasonable and cost effective method to generate the needed intensity of light at appropriate wavelengths.
This talk will cover high level developments in LED technology as it applies to aquarium lighting. A DIY installation of a Rapid LED kit will be presented in relation to a planted tank. As time allows a question and answer session covering other aspects will follow.
