2011 Minnesota Aquarium Society Tropical Fish Show

The show will be at the Friendly Fridley VFW which is a new location for us this year. It is located at the intersection of Osborne Rd and Hwy 65 in Fridley. Come celebrate our 80th anniversary at the show. We have 3 nationally known speakers lined up this year, Ted Judy, Mike Hellweg, and Mike Beals. Kids will like our special event, Bobbing for Piranha, along with the coloring contest. On Sunday Teresa Seaberg from Terre Quatics will be doing a demonstration on how to set up a tank and another on tank repair.

There are two great opportunities to meet new people and hear a talk from one of our speakers. At the VFW Friday night we have a pizza party (no charge) at 8pm after a long day of setting up the show. The awards banquet is 6pm Saturday evening at Broadway Pizza in Fridley. Cost for the banquet is $13 with no preregistration required.  All are welcome to either event.

Enter with your Mentor

This year we're introducing a new program, Enter with your Mentor, to help those who are entering fish in the show for the first time. You are eligible to participate if you haven't entered in the show before. You may also participate in the mentor program if you have entered in the past and feel you could benefit from a mentor's help.

At the March MAS meeting we are going to have the mentees compete in the bowl show with mock show entrees. The winner will receive a Fluval 205 filter and their mentor will win a $50 gift certificate to Terre Quatics in Champlin.

Tank Order

Aquariums will be available at a discount for use in the show this year. See link below to download the order form. The forms must be filled out and received with payment by March 20th.

Tank Rental

MAS is offering rental tanks for the show. The tanks will be brand new 10g with top, light, sponge filter, gravel, and background. Rental will be $10 each for the weekend.
