Dr. Joe Scanlan will be delivering a presentation prepared by the American Killifish Association.

Dr. Joe Scanlan: I am an 82-year-old retired ophthalmologist who has been involved with Aquariums and FishKeeping most of my life. My primary interest is the successful breeding and reproduction of many species of fish both native and exotic, primarily killifish. I am a member of the American Killifish Association and the North American Native Fish Association. Enjoy most of all collecting fishes and learning how they survive. I was the first person to breed and raise Fundulus bifax (Stippled Studfish), a threatened Alabama killifish. I am presently keeping Cyprinodon alvarezi (Petosi pupfish), an extinct species. I am a staunch environmentalist who is dedicated to helping preserve our natural world, and I love to talk about all of my adventures in that pursuit. I test 3 creeks in Alabama ever month as a member of Alabama Water Watch.
