About this event

AquaFest ‘24

Mark your calendar for a full day of fish stuff.  MAS has a number of activities planned for members and non-members on Sunday, September 22, at the Oakdale Nature Preserve (4444 Hadley Avenue N, Oakdale).  In addition to our first In-Person auction since Covid, MAS will also organize a swap meet to run concurrently with the auction, a silent auction of donations from our sponsors and exhibits by various companies and organizations.  Activities begin at 9:30 am and run through 6 pm (or whenever the auction is done).

In-Person Auction

Sellers can pre-register items as early as 8 am on Wednesday, September 11.  By pre-registering, your item will be seen by interested buyers.  You will also be able to upload pictures to maximize selling price.  Pre-registration ends at 8 am, Sunday, September 22.  A maximum of 40 items (not including club donations) per seller can be sold at this auction.  You can also register items for sale on-site by filling out this form (Seller Sheet If you don't have Excel, here is a PDF version Seller Sheet PDF).  All boxes except for the shaded ones must be filled out.  Due to space limitations, we can only accept hard goods up to the size of a 20-Gal long tank for sale at this auction.

The split is 60/40 for non-members and 75/25 for MAS members in good standing (paid up by Sunday, September 15).  Members will receive a free bidder card ($5 for non-members to bid).  Non-members can pay with cash or PayPal.  Members can also pay with check.  Sellers will be paid within 14 days by PayPal or check (but not on-site).

Swap Meet

MAS has invited a number of sellers to attend AquaFest ’24.  We anticipate fish, plants, invertebrates, live foods and hard goods to be for sale, along with fish bags and T-shirts from MAS.

Exhibits

A number of fish related organizations, including the MN Department of Natural Resources, the Twin Cities Marine Aquarium Society, and the Lakes Aquarium Club, will participate.  Attendees will also receive discount coupons for purchases at MAS Partner Stores.

Silent Auction

Many of our sponsors have generously donated items to raise funds for future events.  MAS is putting together an extensive list of brand-new items available at very competitive prices.  Cash and PayPal will be accepted as payment.

Sustenance

Soda and water will be available for sale at the MAS table.  We are arranging to have food truck(s) come to Oakdale for lunch.

What Else?

The Oakdale Nature Preserve has several nature trails and is family and (leashed) dog friendly.  If you’re really hard-core, their trails open ½ hour before sunrise and close ½ hour after sunset.  The facility also has its own display room with many educational pieces.  Your family will have plenty to do while you geek out on fish.
